The purpose of this course is to provide an understanding of General Systems Theory (GST). GST is the set of principles that underlie the world and our understanding of it. They provide a rational basis for understanding many other disciplines, including the social sciences.
The course is steadily being built up from my articles and papers on the topic, and new modules will be added from time to time.
The course is self-paced comprising several modules in the form of downloadable pdfs. Download them in the order indicated below. A good pace to follow is one module per day.
The course is also available to student members of the International Society for the Systems Sciences via Google Classroom. An advantage of the Classroom course is that online support is given by myself and colleagues in the ISSS. If you would like to join the ISSS this is currently free of charge to students for the first year. The link to their website is isss.org.
